Theatre Assistant – Kākāriki Hospital in new Zealand 2024

About Us:

Kākāriki is a brand new state-of-the-art private surgical hospital opening in Greenlane Auckland in March 2024. Kākāriki is a joint venture between Healthcare Holdings Ltd, and the NZ Surgical Group Ltd and will be a private surgical hospital with 4 theatres, a day surgery unit, and 20 inpatient beds. Kākāriki will deliver elective surgery to both adults and children with surgical specialties including ENT, Orthopaedics, Spinal, Plastics, General, Paediatrics, Breast, Vascular, Bariatrics and Urology.

The Role:

  • We’re hiring Theatre Assistants NOW for start dates in March 2024 to coincide with the commissioning and opening of the hospital. Theatre Assistants carry out hands on activities to support patients, families/whānau and the theatre team in the provision of patient care, e.g. positioning patients, transferring patients from the pre-operative area to theatres, and from the operating table to the bed. This is a permanent full-time position, Mon to Fri, working rotating shifts times – either 0730-1600 or 1130-1900.

About you:

  • Your strong customer and team focus, excellent organisational skills, and good physical fitness are all essential for this physically demanding role. You will need healthcare experience, hold a Level 4 HCA certificate, and be available to work both morning and afternoon shifts.

We Offer you:

  • The chance to become a part of something NEW and better. We’re dedicated to your wellbeing so you can be dedicated to your patients. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your knowledge and experience to influence and shape a brand new facility, and start-ups are FUN! Plus, you’ll enjoy excellent pay rates with a wide range of benefits including free parking and a hospital wide Christmas close down period.
  • At Kākāriki Hospital we know that diversity makes us better, and we’re committed to nurturing a workforce as diverse as the patients we serve. Every interaction with patients, families and co-workers has the potential to make a positive impact – on them and you. So, if you’re searching for a career move, where you can make a difference by just doing your best, then you’re the perfect cultural fit for our team.
  • If this exciting NEW opportunity grabs you, we would love to talk to you. So, please apply NOW, or for further information please contact Jan Arnold in Recruitment jan.arnold@mercyascot.co.nz
