This job is 1.5 days per week with flexibility in hours and location.

The Role

Reporting into the CEO, and supporting the core team business managers, the Finance and Operations Manager works with initiative, skill and extreme attention to detail to manage the company finances, optimise the overall accounting processes, and provide financial analysis and modelling to the leadership team for the business operation planning, budgeting and target setting processes.

Key Responsibilities: 

Finance & Accounts

  • Manage The Zone finances
  • Optimise the accounting, forecasting and reporting processes
  • Provide financial analysis and modelling
  • Provide management insight and support for better financial decision making
  • Manage the year end process with our accounting firms
  • Invoicing and process multi-currency payments
  • Manage employee payroll
  • Manage GST and VAT returns
  • Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions
  • Onboard new team members into our financial processes
  • Communicate with and support Clients and The Zone team with financial processes


  • Manage The Zone systems and subscription process and renewals
  • Manage and review The Zone insurances and renewal process
  • Manage and review Client, Affiliate, Partner and Employee global contracts and documentation

Who is the right person?

Purpose, people and profit are all equally important to you and maintaining a balance of head and heart. You are someone who takes trust and reputation seriously, while holding yourself and life lightly.

You are a Certified Public Accountant with over 3 years of experience in commercial organisations. You are an expert in financial modelling and data analysis, have great attention to detail, and take initiative, constantly looking for areas that can be optimised.

You have a hands-on approach to financial management and reporting. As a skilled business partner, you identify financial risks and opportunities and provide valuable insights to support decision making.

You’re adaptable, thrive in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment, and have the flexibility to work remotely with a distributed team across multiple time zones. That means early starts and/or late finishes every now and then, though we all work to minimise this and be respectful of your personal and family time. This also means the flexibility to shape your working hours in a way that works for you and for us.
